I was eating at the table in my house when I looked out the window and saw this bug thing hanging off a tree. I thought: Oh, another annoying cicada.

But instead it opened it wings once, and I saw that it was this massive moth. O-o

So immediately I took my camera outside and shot a bunch of pics with my dad's super-expensive-awesome-didital camera. Thankfully the lighting was good enough in my yard with all the grass around that I could sit and get really, really close. Like, and inch away. And the moth didn't move. Which was disappointing, 'cause if I'd gotten its wings, that woulda been epic.

But sadly, it was more focused on eating little ants on the tree than big ol' predator me, and didn't feel the need to do more than camouflage itself.
